Arsakeio Primary School of Thessaloniki organized a musical-theatrical tribute to the Refuge, on 23 and 24 May 2018 at the Royal Theater. It was about a subject identical to the Greek history and always up to date, where we had the opportunity to admire 170 school children along with graduates and 70 children of the children’s choirs of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki and the Municipality of Pilea – Chortiatis, under the direction of the conductor Iraklis Panagopoulos.
With the main narrator of the event Mr. Gregory Valtinos and the leading Greek musicians – Mr. Manolis Karantinis (bouzouki), Thanos Gouletzis (violin) and Achilleas Sofoudis (piano) along with the traditional orchestra, we traveled via the children choir through the award-winning book of Mrs. Eleni Dikaiou “The girls with the navy”. Our memory lived up and the feelings of our grandparents came and flooded the crowded room of the Royal Theater.
The philanthropic character of the event further increased its importance as the profits were donated to the Pediatric Clinic of the Hippocratic Hospital of Thessaloniki.
